Water Aerobics

POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Conduct safe and responsible water fitness classes for the YMCA.

Responsible for providing leadership in water exercise programs and providing members with safe, knowledgeable and fun exercise experiences.

Assist members, program members, and staff with friendly, knowledgeable service in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide safe exercise environment, extend leadership to wellness activities, provide variety and make exercise fun.Instruct Fitness classes in compliance with YMCA standards.Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on phone, contributing to member retention.Facilities, equipment and Class Programs will be clean and well maintained at the highest level.Build relationships with members, program participants, and community partners; helps members connect with each otherTeach and role model YMCA mission and vision.Know and follow all emergency procedures.Emphasize safety and proper technique.Participate in program meetings and workshops as scheduled.Assist with special events as scheduled including the Annual Campaign and other fundraising events.Understand, discuss and promote all YMCA programs.Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS | ABUSE PREVENTION: Upholding the YMCAs commitment to the safety and well-being of youth in our programs is a core responsibility of all staff regardless of position.

Attend required abuse risk management training.Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.Adhere to procedures related to managing and supervising high-risk activities.Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Communication & Influence Interprets messages and body language effectively.
