Project - Database Team Lead - Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II in Deloitte's Government & Public Services (GPS) HST Technology group, you will support SQL Server database platforms that enable critical client operations.

You will collaborate with technical teams and client stakeholders to improve database availability, performance, security, and operational resilience.

Work you'll do

As a Software Engineer II on the GPS HST Technology team, you will be responsible for:


* Operate, maintain, and optimize SQL Server database systems to support availability, integrity, security, and performance


* Design, develop, tune, and automate database solutions that address documented business and technical requirements


* Investigate database outages and performance issues, coordinate resolution activities, and document root causes and corrective actions


* Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and integrations in alignment with client and organizational priorities


* Partner with client stakeholders and technical teams to communicate status, establish database administration standards, and provide technical guidance to database administrators and developers

Qualifications

Required:


* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience


* 1+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases, including high availability, database integrity, security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, SQL scripting, and automation
