Vice President - Lead Site Reliability Engineer

As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorganChase within Infrastructure Platforms, you bring deep technical expertise and a leadership mindset to one of the firm's most critical reliability domains.

You will drive the design, automation, and continuous improvement of scalable backup, recovery, and data-protection services that safeguard the firm's most sensitive assets.

Job responsibilities


* Build and operate distributed systems, platform services, APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud-native applications that underpin enterprise-scale backup and recovery capabilities


* Embed site reliability engineering principles through reliability metrics, observability, incident learning, operational readiness reviews, and continuous improvement cycles


* Lead architecture and engineering for scalable backup, recovery, immutable-data protection, and recovery-assurance services across hybrid and cloud environments


* Drive automation-first, API-led, and self-service capabilities that reduce operational toil and measurably improve customer and stakeholder outcomes


* Build cloud-native solutions using AWS services, infrastructure as code, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and modern software-engineering practices


* Design preventive and detective security controls, policy guardrails, automated validation, and audit-ready evidence to meet regulatory and compliance requirements


* Apply enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data in accordance with sensitivity and security requirements


* Deliver telemetry, reporting, and operational intelligence that provide real-time visibility into backup health, compliance posture, and recovery readiness


* Mentor engineers, influence senior stakeholders, and coordinate cross-team delivery with clear ownership and explicit dependency management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience


* Demonstrated experience building distributed systems, platform services, APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud-native applications


* Expertise in site reliability engineering practices, monitoring, telemetry, incident management, and production operational readiness, including hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace and Grafana
