Come join Molex and help build the future of global connectivity.
Located in Fremont, California, we are looking for a talented Mechanical Simulation Engineer to join our team.
The engineer for this position will work with a global multi-disciplined team, including mechanical, electrical, optical, reliability, and production line teams
What You Will Do
* Perform mechanical simulations to support multiple product development at component or module level.
The simulation includes predictions of temperature distribution as well as induced thermal stress and deformation and provide guidelines for optimization of product designs to meet specifications, alignment, and achieve high reliability.
* Perform dynamic simulation to support multiple product designs at either component, or module or system level.
The simulation includes modal analysis, vibration, shock and drop with and without package and provide guidelines for optimization of product designs.
* Work with mechanical, optical and electrical design engineers to modify and optimize mechanical layout and electrical layout as well as choose proper materials (metal, non-mental, ceramic, glass, epoxy, etc.) to minimize deformation and stress and meet requirements of both performance and reliability.
* Work with reliability and design engineers to design various tests, verify the reliability and performance of product, check the correlation between simulation and measured data and verify model, etc.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* 2 or more years working experience in telecommunication industry OR experience in a PhD or Master's Degree program focused on simulation and modeling
* Proficient in ANSYS simulation tools (Mechanical, Workbench, or Discovery) and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or SpaceClaim), etc..
* M.S in Mechanical engineering or related technical fields
* Experience with analytical tools and data analysis
* Experience in fundamentals of heat transfer and dynamics.
* Experience with mechanical design and be able to create and read 2D/3D model and drawing.
* Eager to learn and have strong ability to develop new methodologies for s...
