Upfit Production Supervisor

How You Will Make an Impact

The Upfit Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent execution of daily vehicle upfit operations.

This position provides direct shop-floor leadership to Team Leaders and Upfit Installers and is accountable for meeting daily production, quality, safety, delivery, and productivity expectations.

The Supervisor establishes daily priorities, assigns labor and resources, ensures materials and vehicles are ready for production, removes barriers to execution, and drives accountability throughout the shift.

This role is expected to maintain a strong presence on the production floor and actively support continuous improvement.

The Nuts and Bolts


* Lead daily Upfit operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.


* Establish and communicate the daily production plan, priorities, staffing, and work assignments.


* Maintain a strong shop-floor presence, actively monitoring production flow and addressing issues as they occur.


* Ensure vehicles, materials, tooling, work instructions, and other requirements are available before work begins.


* Monitor actual production performance against plan and take corrective action when targets are missed.


* Identify and escalate material shortages, equipment issues, staffing constraints, or other barriers impacting production.


* Ensure work is completed according to established quality standards, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.


* Drive accountability for workmanship and reduce defects, rework, and repeat quality issues.


* Enforce all company safety requirements, policies, and standard work and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors.


* Coach, develop, and hold Team Leaders and employees accountable for performance and expectations.


* Manage attendance, staffing, training, cross-training, and employee performance within the department.


* Coordinate with Production Control, Materials, Quality, Engineering, and other functions to maintain production flow.


* Participate in daily production/SQCD reviews and ensure countermeasures are established for missed targets.


* Lead and sustain 5S, standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement activities.


* Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring production, quality, or safety issues.

Required Credentials


* Previous manufacturing, vehicle upfit, assembly, or related production leadership experience preferred.


* Demonstrated ability to lead hourly production employees in a fast-paced environment.


* Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.


* Ability to read production schedules, drawings, work instructions, and basic performance metrics.


* Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and root-cause problem solving preferred.
