Nurse Practitioner
Position Purpose: The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing the overall mental health care of patients within our facility.
This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Education Requirements: Master's of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience required.
Licensure Requirements: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License required.
BLS certification required, will recertify upon hire if needed.
Knowledge required at time of hire: Knowledge and experience in coordinating patient care and treating patients with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use disorders, including Medication Assisted Treatments.
Must be proficient in diagnosis criteria and treatment of behavioral health and substance use disorders.
Must possess knowledge of therapies, approaches, and treatment models for treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, including day treatment and therapeutic behavioral services.
Must be proficient in electronic health record management systems and documentation, as well as the utilization of office and clinical technologies.
Advanced ability to educate patients, staff, and the community on health issues and promoting overall wellness.
Conflict management and crisis intervention experience and skills.
Ability to effectively apply problem-solving skills while providing real time solutions.
Excellent bed-side manners, interpersonal and interprofessional skills, as well as leadership skills.
Work well as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team consisting of medical and clinical staff.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and communicate challenges effectively.
Hold high ethical standards, and the ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material and situations.
Proficiency in Microsoft & Google products.
Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual and the family.
Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
