Koch-Glitsch, a global leader in mass transfer and separations equipment, is currently looking for an Estimator at our Wichita, KS location.

In this role, you will support proposal development efforts by estimating material, design, and fabrication costs to inform customer and business decisions.

Our Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Estimator specializing in mass transfer and separations technology equipment, including trays, random packing, structured packing, and other tower internals.

The Estimator will develop accurate and timely estimates of design and fabrication costs for large and complex tower internals that are used in the refining, petrochemical, and chemical industries.

The Estimator will collaborate with process engineers, equipment engineers, sales managers, quality, and fabrication leaders to prioritize work using economic thinking, customer commitments, and value to the business.

What You Will Do


* Prepare competitive, detailed, and accurate estimates for the design and fabrication of trays, packed tower internals, and phase separations equipment.


* Interpret tower drawings, equipment drawings, customer specifications, and other technical documents to determine scope, material requirements, hardware needs, and fabrication complexity.


* Build technical knowledge of large and complex tower internals and apply that knowledge to improve estimate quality.


* Collaborate with process engineering, equipment engineering, sales, quality, and global fabrication teams to validate scope, assumptions, risks, and costs.


* Prioritize estimating work using customer commitments, economic thinking, resource requirements, and value to the business.


* Evaluate cost drivers and project risks, and identify cost-effective alternatives that improve competitiveness while meeting technical requirements.


* Compare actual project costs with estimates, identify meaningful variances, and transform existing estimating methods and tools.


* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, fabrication techniques, and market pricing.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Industry experience working with mass transfer equipment or separations technology, manufacturing processes, or equipment design.


* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or technical specifications.


* Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
