EHS Project Leader

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Environmental, Health & Safety Leader (EHS) is responsible for developing and implementing environmental, health, and safety compliance programs and management systems that support a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace in new BAC manufacturing sites.

This role leads establishing the systems required to ensure a safe and compliant start-up and ramp up of new operations to achieve 1.0 Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and achieve and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.

The EHS Leader partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Facilities, site leadership, and external agencies to identify and reduce risk, meet regulatory requirements, embed consistent EHS practices into daily operations, and build a culture where safety is a core value.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Compliance Programs and Management Systems


* Own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS compliance programs and management systems aligned with federal, state, and local requirements, BAC Global EHS Standards, and business objectives.


* Develop and execute initiatives that support achievement of a 1.0 TRIR and strengthen the site's safety culture and risk prevention practices.


* Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk, improve compliance performance, and strengthen operational effectiveness.

Environmental Due Diligence


* Facilitate completion of environmental site assessments and coordinate required follow-up actions.

Permits and Infrastructure


* Obtain and maintain required environmental, health, and safety permits and licenses.


* Ensure the facility is equipped with appropriate safeguards, controls, systems, and protective devices.


* Engage FM Global and other external partners as needed to address property protection, risk engineering, and loss prevention requirements.

 

 

BAC EHS Management System


* Develop and implement an EHS management system that meets BAC Global EHS Standards, including SN-1 through SN-12.


* Establish governance, documentation, audit processes, corrective-action tracking, and management review practices that support sustained compliance.

EHS Programs and Training


* Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs, procedures, job aids, and training that support compliance with applicable regulations and BAC high-risk work standards.


* Launch EHS onboarding modules for employees and leaders and reinforce expectations through ongoing education and communication.

Digital Platforms and Reporting


* Set up and deploy MyLearning, Gensuite, MSDSOnline, and Headcount to support training, compliance, chemical management, reporting, and workforce data requirements.


* Establish dashboards, metrics, and reporting processes for EHS key performance indicators, trends, risks, and corrective actions.
