Registered Nurse (Emergency Department)- Weekend Package

Schedule: Weekend Package (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) nights position (1830-0700) and may include other hours of 1300-0130 (mid-shift).

The shifts are (3) 12 hours shifts and will require a holiday rotation.

Weekend package incentive pay (1.5x base) applied during applicable hours.

This position is responsible for the provision and promotion of optimal patient care in the Emergency Department.

Has knowledge of EMTALA to render safe and thorough treatment to each emergency patient Capable of critical thinking in emergency situations Makes assessment and reassessment of the patient's current condition Contacts the appropriate provider Gives direct patient care acting as patient advocate Coordinates patient care with other departments verbally and through use of computer Communicates patient information and provider orders to appropriate personnel Assumes responsibility for carrying out provider orders Communicates needs for assistance Assures completion of requisitions, forms, patient records and charges Assures the adequacy of department inventory/supplies Communicates effectively with medical staff, hospital personnel, patients and families Disseminates information through shift report activities Transports patients to other areas within the hospital and gives accurate, concise report to personnel assuming responsibility of patient care Reports patient admission status and condition to appropriate personnel Responsible for discharge teaching of patient and family Is proficient at using the Omnicell to obtain medications for the patient Assures function and supplies for the crash cart in the department Facilitates obtaining patient's previous medical records Responds in a pleasant and respectful manner to consumer, staff, providers, and public
