The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals while following established menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards.

Position Details

Position: Dietary Cook
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Facility: Lone Tree Post Acute

Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.


* Follow special diet orders and resident-specific nutritional needs.


* Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.


* Maintain proper portion sizes and food presentation.


* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.


* Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food storage practices.


* Keep kitchen equipment, work areas, and food preparation areas clean and organized.


* Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.


* Minimize food waste while maintaining meal quality.


* Work collaboratively with dietary staff and facility team members.


* Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable health regulations.

Qualifications


* Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.


* Healthcare or skilled nursing dietary experience is a plus.


* Knowledge of basic food preparation and sanitation practices.


* Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.


* Reliable, punctual, and dependable.


* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.


* Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
