Job Description:

The Associate Mechanical Value Engineering Engineer is responsible for driving mechanical cost reduction, manufacturability improvements, supplier optimization, and quality enhancements across new and existing products.

Working closely with Mechanical Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, and external fabrication partners, this role develops high-value mechanical solutions that improve product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost competitiveness.

The engineer supports both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining products by applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Value (DFV) principles across a broad range of mechanical fabrication technologies.

The role serves as a key technical interface between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure robust production processes and continuous product cost reductions throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities


* Drive value engineering initiatives focused on mechanical cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.


* Support fabrication technologies including sheet metal, machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and mechanical assemblies.


* Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs), and fabrication suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce product costs.


* Identify tooling, material, and process improvement opportunities that improve quality and lower total product cost.


* Analyze manufacturing, supplier, and field quality data to identify improvement opportunities and corrective actions.


* Participate in root cause investigations of product, assembly, and process failures and drive closure of corrective actions.


* Support qualification of new suppliers, manufacturing processes, tooling, and mechanical components.
