Job Description
Finance Manager (Commercial Operations): Act as a strategic financial partner to commercial operations by translating financial performance into business decisions that drive profitability and operational efficiency by proactively managing commercial credit risk and balancing sales growth with portfolio health.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the period-end forecast process by delivering timely, well-supported, and accurate financial projections while providing clear explanations of key assumptions, drivers, and variances.
* Develop annual and quarterly operating plans/LEs/LRP.
Understand main drivers and assumptions considered within the construction of each planning exercise.
* Perform regular and ad-hoc financial analysis of operating details, interpreting and reporting results to internal users as well as evaluating and analyzing projects proposed by functional areas.
* Provide financial advice on potential new operating processes to ensure financial viability, adequate recording, tracking and visibility.
* Provide financial advice for commercial operations and commercial support leadership.
* Partner with sales leadership to establish credit policies that appropriately reflect market conditions, including criteria for credit approvals, circumstances that may warrant exceptions to established credit limits, and conditions under which customer accounts should be placed on hold.
* Partner with BTSSC to monitor and manage overdue receivables, leading collection strategies to improve cash flow and minimize credit risk.
Determine tools/path to assess credit limits: internal scorecard for low volume and short terms customers or full background and credit history checks may be required for large volume of customers on a regular basis.
* Conduct periodic reviews of approved customer credit accounts to ensure credit decisions remain aligned with current financial and market conditions.
Establish tools and criteria for risk reassessment, credit term modifications, and payment plan negotiations while supporting strategic customer profitability analysis
* Develop and maintain the bad debt forecast and analysis supporting the bad debt reserve.
Review of any ongoing promotional or rebate reserves supporting commercial customer activity.
Coordinate the monthly accounting entries to support the analysis
* Manage master databases to assist in assigning credit limits, establishing payment terms, discounts, tax rates and return policies, and any other relevant terms at customer level.
Conduct periodic management reviews of risk profiles by region using a portfolio scoring model.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* More than 7 years of experience in FP&A and/or Financial Controlling.
* Experience in commercial credit, credit risk and collections management is preferred.
