Accounting Manager/Sr. Accountant

(CPT) Janesville, Wisconsin CPT is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing operation in Janesville, Wisconsin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who is ready for greater responsibility and wants to play an important role in the financial operations of a growing manufacturing company.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position will have significant responsibility for the monthly close, general accounting, inventory and manufacturing cost accounting, financial reporting, and will directly supervise our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities Take an active role in the monthly and year-end financial closePrepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedulesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsAssist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statementsManage inventory accounting and reconciliationsAnalyze standard costs, manufacturing costs and production variancesMaintain fixed asset and capital expenditure accountingAssist with budgeting, forecasting and management reportingSupport annual audit and tax reporting requirementsSupervise and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staffStrengthen accounting controls and improve accounting processesWork closely with Operations, Purchasing and other departmentsProvide financial analysis and support to the Director of Finance and Executive team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong general ledger and month-end close experienceManufacturing accounting experience strongly preferredInventory and cost accounting experience highly desirablePrevious supervisory or team-lead experience preferredStrong Excel skillsExperience with ERP accounting systemsSYSPRO experience is a plus, but not requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to take ownership, meet deadlines and work independentlyCPA or CMA certification is a plus butnot required.
