John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Controls Engineering Leader to help shape the future of our Controls Engineering team.

This role will lead a team of engineers while helping drive the evolution of our control's strategy, technical capabilities, and ways of working to position the business for long-term growth and customer value.

This leader will partner across engineering, product management, project management, operations, sales, and service to improve how work is executed, develop scalable technical solutions, and build the organizational capabilities needed to support the next generation of our business to support customer needs.

The ideal candidate is both a strong people leader and a change agent who thrives in environments where continuous improvement, innovation, and transformation are required.

What You Will Do


* Provide leadership and direction for a team of Controls Engineers.


* Help develop and execute a long-term controls engineering strategy aligned with business and customer needs.


* Challenge existing processes and paradigms - drive improvements in execution, standardization, digital tools, knowledge sharing, and engineering productivity.


* Build organizational capability by coaching, developing, and empowering engineers.


* Partner with commercial, operations, service, and product teams to improve outcomes across the business.


* Establish scalable engineering practices that improve quality, reliability, safety, and speed of execution.


* Identify future capability needs and drive workforce development plans to support business growth.


* Serve as a champion of innovation, continuous improvement, and Principle Based Management.


* Lead technical and organizational transformation initiatives that improve how the team works and delivers value.


* Ensure successful execution of engineering deliverables while balancing customer needs, business priorities, and resource allocation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Experience leading engineering teams or technical organizations.


* Experience with industrial control systems, automation, process controls, or related engineering disciplines.


* Experience driving change, continuous improvement, or organizational transformation initiatives.


* Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholders.


* Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support business requirements.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Expertise in combustion, emissions, vapor recovery, vapor combustion, or related industrial process technologies.


* Experience developing engineering standards, work processes, or technical roadmaps.


* Experience leading global or multi-location engineering teams.


* Strong coaching and talent development experience.


* Demonstrated success improving execution, productivity, or customer outcomes through innovative approaches.
