Human Resources Intern

Summary:

The intern hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of consistent with the area of study and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge.

Required Skills/Abilities:


* Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.


* Ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.


* Effective planning and priority setting.

Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.


* Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.


* Knowledge of benefits contract language.


* Knowledge of all federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and DOL requirements.


* Excellent communication and organization skills.

 

Internship Tasks:



* Provide administrative support in key areas as well as assisting with department projects and initiatives on an as-needed basis


* Conduct audits of system information


* Perform rigorous testing of the new systems to ensure functionality and adherence to business requirements. 


* Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.


* Assist with data entry and research


* Prepare HR related reports and documents as needed


* Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various projects


* Provide administrative support for HR executives

Education & Experience:


* Currently enrolled or completion of Bachelor's or Master’s degree in human resource management or related field or employee benefits administration experience.
