Position Summary

The Activities Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities designed to enhance residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

This role requires creativity, compassion, flexibility, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of others.
Essential Responsibilities


* Facilitate group and individual activities that promote resident engagement and enjoyment


* Provide one-on-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group programs


* Encourage resident participation and help foster a welcoming, inclusive environment


* Assist with games, crafts, music programs, special events, celebrations, and community outings


* Adapt activities to meet residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities


* Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support resident needs


* Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly activity calendars


* Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner


* Monitor and report safety concerns, equipment needs, or maintenance issues


* Support the department in creating memorable experiences that enhance residents' quality of life

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent required


* Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred


* Prior experience as an Activities Aide or within recreation programming is highly desirable


* CPR certification preferred


* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


* Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
