Shadelands Post Acute is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Activities Assistant to join our team full-time.

The Activities Assistant plays an important role in creating a positive, engaging, and meaningful environment for our residents.

This position assists with planning and leading activities that promote social interaction, creativity, physical engagement, and overall quality of life.

Position Details


* Position: Activities Assistant


* Employment Type: Full-Time


* Location: Shadelands Post Acute


* Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Responsibilities


* Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily activities and recreational programs for residents.


* Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.


* Lead a variety of activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, social events, and other recreational programs.


* Assist with group and one-on-one activities for residents who may have different physical or cognitive abilities.


* Help create a welcoming, positive, and engaging atmosphere for residents.


* Encourage socialization and meaningful interaction among residents.


* Assist residents with participating in activities safely and comfortably.


* Prepare activity supplies, materials, and designated activity areas.


* Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and facility programs.


* Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in the activities program.


* Observe resident responses and preferences and communicate relevant information to the Activities Director or appropriate staff.


* Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity areas.


* Follow facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.


* Perform other duties related to the activities program as assigned.

Qualifications


* Previous experience working with seniors, in healthcare, long-term care, activities, recreation, or a related field preferred.


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


* Friendly, outgoing, patient, and compassionate personality.


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


* Ability to work effectively with residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities.


* Creative and enthusiastic approach to planning and leading activities.


* Dependable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.


* Ability to encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities.


* Commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care and service.
