Work you'll do

As a Lead Data Engineer on the AI & Engineering team, you will be responsible for:


* Leading the design, development, testing, and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions supporting health eligibility, benefits, and human services platforms


* Managing teams that build retrieval-augmented and multimodal artificial intelligence capabilities, including document intake and verification, natural-language access to program data, and assistive tools for eligibility staff


* Owning model evaluation and quality activities, including grounding, accuracy measurement, regression testing across prompt and model changes, and release gating based on measured results


* Developing and managing data pipelines, model training workflows, and production-grade application components that support artificial intelligence-enabled products


* Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, policy analysts, and program stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, guide technical decisions, and mentor junior practitioners
