Estimator SGC

Position Summary The Estimatoris responsible forpreparingaccurateandtimelycost estimates for civil construction projects.

Working under the direction of the Lead Estimator, this role supports the bidding process by analyzing project plans, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, andmaintainingorganized estimating documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand scope, requirements, and constraints.

Perform detailed quantitytakeoffs and cost calculations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Identifykey cost variables, assumptions, and risk factorsimpactingproject estimates.

Research materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for bidding purposes.

Solicit, review, and compile pricing from vendors and subcontractors.

Maintain organized estimate files, bid logs, and supportingdocumentation for auditability and future reference.

Collaborate with the estimating team and other internal stakeholders to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.

Utilize estimating and takeoff software to support efficient and accurateestimating processes.

Adapt to evolving systems, tools, and estimating practices as the business grows.
