Transformer Shop Supervisor

The Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Rental Operations team while remaining actively involved in the inspection, testing, repair, and preparation of rental electrical equipment.

This role supports our Temporary Power Solutions division by ensuring equipment availability, operational excellence, employee development, safety compliance, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the Rental Operations team.

Assign work priorities based on customer schedules, equipment availability, and operational requirements.

Ensure rental and sales equipment is inspected, tested, repaired, maintained, and prepared for deployment on schedule.

Monitor workflow to maximize productivity while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Train, mentor, coach, and develop team members through ongoing feedback and performance management.

Monitor employee attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping, and assist with hiring and onboarding activities.

Coordinate equipment movement between the shop, warehouse, yard, and customer deliveries to support operational efficiency.

Maintain fleet readiness through preventative maintenance planning and equipment lifecycle management.

Manage shop inventory, tools, supplies, and equipment while coordinating facility maintenance and special projects.

Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Fleet Management, Safety, Human Resources, and other departments to support customer requirements.

Coordinate staffing and equipment availability for emergency and after-hours customer support.

Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety & Quality Follow all company safety policies, regulations, and safe work practices.

Properly wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with applicable safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Safely operate tools, equipment, and material handling equipment in accordance with company policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.Perform all work to company quality standards and ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and customer-ready.

Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, near misses, incidents, and quality concerns.

Participate in required safety training, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
