Project Management Intern
Kickstart your career with a hands-on internship as a Project Management Intern in our West Region.
You'll gain practical experience supporting daily operations, learn from experienced professionals, and develop foundational skills that will serve you throughout your career.
This position will be filled in our West Region (Costa Mesa, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; or Boulder, CO).
This position will be a rotational program internship, giving an opportunity to work in 2 or more engineering disciplines within our Efficiency division.
We are seeking well rounded and curious candidates that are looking for great hands on experience.
What will you do?
* Work on energy-related infrastructure projects for schools and cities.
These typically include upgrading building systems such as lighting, HVAC, and Building Automation Systems, providing more efficient ways to use water, and may include renewable energy projects like on-site solar and battery storage.
* Assist Project Development Manager by coordinating project needs with internal teams and with customer.
* Support initial project setup, including creating project strategy that aligns with customer requirements and creating associated development schedules, budgets, resourcing plans, and safety strategies.
* Assist in collecting project data onsite.
* Track deliverable progress and associated deadlines, facilitate internal communication between team members, and maintain document control.
* Assist Project Development Manager with project financial analysis.
* Assist Project Development Manager with proposal and report writing.

EDUCATION:
* Junior or Senior level status in a relevant engineering degree program such as mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Courses you may have taken that are relevant to this role include Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Control Systems, Power Systems Engineering, Engineering Economics, Introduction to Project Management, Renewable Energy, and Systems Engineering.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
* Strong organizational and project management skills including the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently
* Ability to learn new things quickly
Preferred:
* Some understanding of building systems such as lighting, HVAC, building controls, and electrical distribution systems
* Exposure to project financial analysis such as cash flows, life-cycle cost analysis, and payback calculations
