Registered Dental Assistant
Position Summary The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) will function as a circulating assistant in chairside dental procedures under the direction of the Dental Clinic Site Manager, performing all dentistry procedures, infection control, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, and tray setup.
This position will require travel between Rolling Hills Clinic sites to fill temporary staffing vacancies as needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Perform all phases of four-handed dental assisting duties for various dental specialties.
Conduct radiographic methods, expose, process, and upload diagnostic radiographs.
Demonstrate familiarity with dental terminology, materials, medications, and instruments.
Ensure patient flow efficiency: clean, sterilize instruments, set up trays.
Maintain/test equipment (sterilizer, x-ray dosimetry, processor, etc.).
Pour models and conduct lab procedures.
Instruct patients in oral hygiene and preventive education under dentist supervision.
Manage and reorder inventory supplies as needed.
Document exam findings in patient records.
Maintain clean and well-stocked operatories and lab.
Plan and organize work for clinic efficiency; knowledge of scheduling.
Collaborate on preventive dental activities with staff dentists/dental team.
Follow all safety and ergonomic protocols and standards; report and correct safety concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
State of California Registered Dental Assistant licensure.
Current sealant certificate or ability to obtain such within one year of employment.
Preferred Education & Experience One year of experience in a clinic environment.
Bilingual.
Licenses/Certificates Valid BLS Certification Valid California Drivers License Pre-Employment Requirements Pre-employment drug testing.
Department of Justice fingerprint clearance through Federal, State, and Child Abuse Index.
Working Environment & Physical Demands Working Environment: Work is performed in a health clinic setting.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Will work with blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
