Responsibilities for automotive painter Determines the methods, techniques, devices and materials that are best suited for the surface finishPerforms all prep and paint procedures and operations to ensure top quality refinishCapable of refinishing to a level consistent to OEM finish without rework (no buffing, no runs, no dirt)Capable of disassembly and reassembly proceduresWill be prepping projects for paint by removing grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfacesRemove accessories, such as chrome or mirrors, from vehicles and mask other surfaces with tape or paper to protect them from paintSelect/operate the correct spray gun for the material being applied, and correct paintApply the industrial automotive paint finished on various types of materials Qualifications for automotive painter Prep and paint vehicles to meet and exceed quality standardsApproach repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail consistentlyCertificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in auto body repair or related field a plus3 years experience in directly relevant work preferred
