Early Learning Teacher (Floater) - Southwest Valley Family YMCA
Early Learning teacher provides high-quality care, implements program curriculum and ensures the safety of children ages 0 to 5 years at a Y Academy early learning center.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN EARLY LEARNING TEACHER (FLOATER): Attend staff meetings and training courses as required.Collaborate with peers and be effective in working in team-based environment.Supervises, implements, and directs a classroom within an early learning program.Provides guidance to assistant and co-teachers within the classroom and/or center.Exhibit sound judgement in challenging and adverse scenarios, prioritizing child safety.Preserves quality condition of all supplies, equipment, materials, and cleanliness of site.Develops positive relationships and uses positive tone & communication with children and parents.Complete all daily reports on children within the classroom, showing competency with assigned technology.Understands and maintains ADHS state licensing rules and regulations and YMCA childcare program standards.Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and 4 core values of the YMCA in all communication withparticipants and co-workers.Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures.
Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE AN EARLY LEARNING TEACHER (FLOATER): 18 years of age or older.Able to be flexible and work with multiple teams.Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.Reliable transportation to commute to assigned centers.Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and negative TB test (must possess prior to working with children).12 months qualifying experience in childcare field and 6 credit hours in the childcare field or 60 documented training hours.
