Schedule: Part-Time: Monday - Friday 10am-2pm Some Job Responsibilities: Assists with the supervision and preparation of the student lunches.
Supports students in the following individualized feeding protocols and encourages independence during meals.
Monitors students closely to prevent choking and to ensure mealtime safety.
Assists students with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene and toileting, using universal precautions.
Supports the classroom teacher in supervising students during non-instructional activities.
Interacts with students in a consistent, supportive, and nurturing manner.
Helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including care of materials and equipment.
Collaborates effectively and professionally as part of the classroom team.
Follows all agency policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines.
Job Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED; Valid NYS Driver's License preferred; Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred; Must be able to perform physical activities such as (but not limited to); twisting, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing; Must be able to sit, walk, drive, and stand for prolonged periods of time; Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
