Digital Merchandising Specialist

Job Summary Groomer's Choice is looking for a Digital Merchandising Specialist to own our product presentation and discovery on our e-commerce site.

This is an individual-contributor role focused on the full digital storefront experience: product presentation, PDP quality, and cross-sell strategy first, and checkout/site-structure optimization second.

The role sits in Marketing, with a dotted line into Product, so that the full site experience is owned by one team rather than split across disconnected functions.

This person surfaces and analyzes signals like search gap analysis that inform product development priorities, but does not own the product roadmap or make product decisions; those calls stay with Product.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Visual & Web Merchandising (80% Primary) Add new products and brands to site.

Work with product team to ensure impact features and benefits are clear to the customer Own product presentation across the site: collections, category pages, featured/promoted placements, and merchandising rules Monitor and improve PDP quality content, imagery, structured data, and consistency across the catalog Develop and execute cross-sell and upsell strategy (related products, bundles, on-site recommendations) Use GA4 to identify underperforming products, categories, and digital merchandising.

Identify and act on merchandising opportunities Conduct search gap and competitor analysis and other on-site signal work, and feed findings to Product as input not direction for roadmap prioritization Partner with the Head of Product to share merchandising insights and represent the full site experience in cross-functional planning UI/UX Optimization (20% Secondary) Monitor checkout flow and site structure/navigation for friction points using GA4 and on-site behavior data Make hands-on updates directly in Shopify (theme settings, layout, navigation) for straightforward improvements Design and run tests to validate UX changes before rolling them out broadly Partner with the Marketing Director and Head of Product on larger UX initiatives that go beyond this role's scope Required Qualifications 35 years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce, UX, or a related digital marketing role Hands-on Shopify experience comfortable managing collections, products, merchandising rules, and making theme/settings changes directly Hands-on GA4 experience able to build reports, segment data, and translate findings into merchandising and UX decisions Strong understanding of PDP best practices and cross-sell/upsell tactics for ecommerce Working knowledge of UX principles for checkout flow and site structure/navigation Ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes (e.g., with Product) without formal decision authority Strong analytical and organizational skills; comfortable moving between data analysis and hands-on execution Preferred Qualifications Experience with Shopify Plus Collaborative, Accountable; ability to thrive in...
