VIE - Junior Category Buyer - Budapest

Join Schneider Electric's European Procurement organization and contribute to sourcing activities for a portfolio of electromechanical components, including batteries, cables, cable assemblies, and windings.

As a VIE Category Buyer, you will support an international team located across Europe and gain hands-on experience in strategic procurement, supplier management, cost analysis, and cross-functional project coordination.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your procurement expertise in a fast-paced and multicultural environment while working closely with manufacturing sites, suppliers, and category leaders.
Your responsibilitiesSupport Sourcing and Supplier Management


* Assist Category Buyers in implementing supplier strategies and procurement initiatives.


* Participate in supplier performance monitoring, including quality, delivery, sustainability, and competitiveness indicators.


* Support supplier relationship management and contribute to maintaining a competitive supplier panel.


* Help ensure contracts and supplier information are properly maintained and updated.

Contribute to RFQ and Procurement Projects


* Support the preparation and management of Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.


* Analyze supplier quotations and contribute to sourcing recommendations.


* Participate in supplier negotiations alongside experienced buyers.


* Assist in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.

Drive Continuous Improvement and Cost Optimization


* Support cost reduction and productivity projects through data analysis and benchmarking.


* Identify opportunities for technical and commercial improvements in collaboration with business stakeholders and suppliers.


* Contribute to initiatives focused on Quality Value Engineering (QVE), supplier development, and procurement efficiency.

Data Analysis and Cross-Functional Collaboration


* Prepare reports, dashboards, and procurement analyses to support decision-making.


* Collaborate with manufacturing sites, quality teams, supply chain, engineering, and procurement stakeholders across Europe.


* Maintain procurement databases and ensure data accuracy.


* Contribute to procurement digitalization and process improvement initiatives.

What we're looking for



* Master's degree (or equivalent) in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.


* First experience through internships, apprenticeship in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, or Project Management.


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


* Interest in supplier management, sourcing, and industrial environments.


* Good knowledge of Excel and digital tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.


* Ability to work collaboratively in an international and multicultural environment.
