Job Description:
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently providing technical paint kitchen support to the Finishing department.
This position requires strong technical skills.
YOUR ROLE:
* Mix topcoat, sealer and/or stain with correct number of reducers, additives, agitation, and under adequate temperatures to ensure material workability and performance.
* Schedule, record, track and maintain departmental activity logs and reports.
* Mix color/topcoat/sealer onto parts moving on overhead line.
* Monitor finish substance and adjust for correct volume and thickness in accordance with room temperature and humidity changes.
* May assist in or perform the moving and disposing of Hazardous Waste requirements.
* May load and unload trucks for material shipments.
* May assist as needed to perform flow rates, mil checks, and equipment set-ups.
* Rotate into other finishing department positions as required.
* Maintain and promote positive attitude, teamwork and cooperation.
* Support Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).
* Follow and support safety initiatives and assist in development of safety programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Support Specialist.
Job Requirements/Skills:
* Hazardous Material and respirator certifications required.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and support department initiatives.
* Demonstrated technical ability working with color, finishes and finishing processes.
* Demonstrated ability to read and use fixed-gauge measurement instruments (metric and standard).
* Demonstrated ability to complete, understand, and retain necessary schedules and records.
* Demonstrated ability to read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions.
Demonstrated ability to maintain production goals, including flexible hours as required.
