Assistant Athletic Trainer - (FT)
General Job Brief The position will assist the Director of Sports Medicine in all aspects of the athletic training department, including but not limited to: athletic injury management and prevention, practice/game coverage, rehabilitation, appropriate administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff, faculty, and students with proper English usage.Good organizational and planning skills.First Aid and CPR, as well as skills in the following areas: injury assessment, care, treatment, rehabilitation, manual therapy techniques.Administrative skills in record keeping, charting, computer skills with basic programs as well as athletic training software.Good people skills in a diverse environment.Works well under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities Athletic care and coverage for specific teams as designated, working with coaches on practice times and availabilityManage athletic training students as neededWorking with the Director of Sports Medicine to ensure the athletic department staff and coaches are informed on all appropriate Athletic Training policies, procedures, updates, and necessary informationMaintain positive working relationships with other staff and faculty on campus, as well as all appropriate medical personnel, including team physiciansMaintaining Athletic Training Room policies and proceduresMaintain proper record keeping for medical records and accurate injury/illness reports of all injuries.Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the student-athletesPerforms other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
