What You'll Be Doing: The purpose of the Cable & Harness Operator is to: 1) Assemble cable/harness assemblies, subassemblies, products or systems per military or manufacturing specifications; 2) Ensures compliance to quality standards on each project or job while maintaining production goals; and 3) Follow company policy and procedure ensuring a safe, respectful workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Builds assemblies from oral and/or written work instructions and within established shop floor guidelines.
Strips, crimps, solders, screws, bolts, tack welds, or similar operations to secure parts.
Execute pull test on wire or cable as required.
Positions and aligns parts in a specified relationship to each other in a jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Routes wires per drawing or fixture defined in assembly work instructions.
Assembles and attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies.
Perform over-braiding on harnesses and cable assemblies.
Completes intermediate assemble tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy-bonding, curing, stamping ad etching.
Maintains a clean, safe work environment free of FOD.
Receives, verifies and process parts for assemblies by identifying specific part numbers.
Enter information on production records, logs, and other reports as needed.
Diagnose, document and repair defects on incoming RMA cable and WIA assemblies.
