Automotive Parts Stock Person

About This Job As an Automotive Parts Stock Person, you play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our service department.

You ensure that the right parts are available at the right time, directly supporting our technicians and satisfying our customers.

This position demands precision, organization, and a proactive approach to inventory management, contributing significantly to our efficiency and reputation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Manages inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and optimal availability of automotive parts.Identifies parts quickly and accurately using various catalogs, computer systems, and physical inspection.Executes efficient warehouse operations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe storage environment.Performs all aspects of shipping and receiving, including unpacking, inspecting, logging, and storing incoming parts.Prepares parts for outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.Completes accurate data entry for all inventory transactions, updating records in our management system.Handles materials safely and efficiently, utilizing appropriate equipment for moving and storing parts.Provides excellent customer service, assisting technicians and other staff with parts inquiries and requests.Applies comprehensive automotive parts knowledge to verify part compatibility and assist with complex orders.Conducts regular cycle counts and participates in annual inventory audits to maintain accuracy.Organizes and stocks shelves, ensuring parts are easily accessible and correctly labeled.

Required Qualifications Education Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Demonstrates experience in a warehouse, inventory, or parts department setting.Shows proficiency in using computer systems for inventory tracking.

Knowledge/Skills Inventory Management: Exhibits strong organizational skills and attention to detail for precise stock control.Parts Identification: Accurately identifies various automotive components using technical resources.Warehouse Operations: Understands and implements best practices for an organized and safe warehouse environment.Shipping & Receiving: Follows established procedures for processing incoming and outgoing parts efficiently.Data Entry: Enters information accurately and quickly into inventory management software.Material Handling: Operates material handling equipment safely and effectively.Customer Service: Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external customers.Automotive Parts Knowledge: Possesses a foundational understanding of automotive systems and components.

Preferred Qualifications Holds a valid forklift operator certification.Has previous experience in an automotive dealership parts department.Familiarity with specific automotive inventory management software.
