Key Responsibilities



* Resident Assessment: Observe, assess, document, and report resident conditions and changes during rounds.



* Care Implementation: Ensure resident care plans are correctly followed and implemented.



* Medication Administration: Give prescribed medications and perform narcotic counts (reconciliation) between shifts.



* Physician Communication: Complete required nursing assessments before calling a doctor regarding any change in a resident's health.



* Supervision: Monitor and oversee certified nursing aides.



* Documentation: Complete accident, incident, and discharge reports according to facility policy.



* Family Communication: Update residents' designated points of contact on status changes.

Qualifications



* Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.



* Active status as a Graduate Vocational Nurse pursuing official Texas licensure.
