HCV Housing Coordinator - Hybrid

Internal Close Date: September 14, 2026 Grade Level: 8A Salary: $28.21 - 41.38 per hour Note: Starting pay rates are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

New employees typically start in the lower half of range, but experts in their field may be considered for starting pay rates in the top half of the range.

Department/Location: Housing Choice Voucher / 1001 Washington Ave N Summary Housing Coordinators assist HCV participants in multiple rental assistance programs administered by MPHA locate, secure and maintain affordable housing in the City of Minneapolis rental market.

The role of the Housing Coordinator is to provide clear program expectations, guidance and advocacy to HCV participants, property owners and community partners.

The Housing Coordination team actively collaborates with other MPHA staff, partner agencies and the community to provide relevant and current information regarding tenant and property owner rights & responsibilities, local resources and best practices regarding subsidy administration.

Housing Coordination services for HCV participants may be automatically assigned or requested with the expectation that a case load of participants and projects will be managed with limited supervision.

All activities must support the Minneapolis Public Housing Authoritys (MPHA or Authority) mission, vision, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work.

Provide one-on-one support to HCV participants that are searching for affordable housing in the City of Minneapolis until they move into their new home or until their housing search time has expired.Demonstrate best practices for housing search, understanding and addressing personal barriers to housing stability and how to obtain resources to improve a rental applicants eligibility for approval for tenancy and understand their responsibilities as a renter.Proactively seek out new housing opportunities and resources that are available in the community to verify, document and share with staff, participants and partners.Provide participants with transportation assistance to and from unit showings and meetings using an MPHA vehicle.Develop and maintain relationships with property owners/managers by providing education, resources and assistance to ensure working with MPHA is a positive and mutually beneficial partnership.

Collaborate with the Community Engagement Specialist in identifying housing opportunities through the development of relationships with property owners and property management companies, a variety of community resources, and city led initiatives.
