Construction Manager – Lead Heavy Civil & Concrete Paving Projects

Company: Reede Construction, Inc.

Location: Aberdeen, SD — Home base/relocation required

Compensation: $80,000–$120,000+ per year, depending on experience

Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel: Extensive regional travel, up to 90% during active construction periods

Project Scope: Highway, DOT, FAA, municipal, federal, concrete, paving, and heavy civil infrastructure projects

The Opportunity

Reede Construction, Inc.

is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead complex heavy civil concrete and paving projects throughout the Upper Midwest.

This is a hands-on leadership position for a construction professional who can successfully operate in both the field and the management side of the business.

You will oversee project execution, support field teams, manage cost and schedule performance, coordinate project documentation, and help strengthen the systems and processes behind Reede Construction's continued growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong heavy civil or transportation construction experience and is comfortable working directly with crews, project stakeholders, DOT representatives, subcontractors, and company leadership.

This position is based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, with regular travel to active project sites.

Reede Construction primarily operates throughout North Dakota and South Dakota, with additional work across Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, and surrounding Upper Midwest markets.

How You Will Make an Impact


* Lead daily field and project operations for highway, transportation, concrete, paving, and heavy civil construction projects.


* Maintain a strong field presence while providing leadership to foremen, crews, subcontractors, and project personnel.


* Manage project schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and site logistics to support safe and profitable execution.


* Monitor project costs, production goals, KPIs, and overall job performance.


* Implement and maintain DOT, FAA, AASHTO, and project-specific quality requirements.


* Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, DOT representatives, subcontractors, and internal leadership.


* Identify and resolve technical, operational, scheduling, and logistical issues before they impact project delivery.


* Support contract administration, documentation, shop drawings, change management, and project closeout activities.


* Participate in construction planning, scheduling, cost reviews, and project forecasting.


* Help develop and mentor field leaders while reinforcing accountability, safety, quality, and operational consistency.


* Support estimating, takeoffs, preconstruction planning, and bid-to-build handoffs during the winter and off-season.


* Help implement and improve technology, systems, and processes that increase efficiency and strengthen project management across the organization.
