Medical Laboratory Technologist
Position Title - Medical Laboratory Technologist Reports To: Laboratory Manager/Laboratory Director Job Description Position Goals This job description for the Medical Laboratory Technologist at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital provides criteria for the evaluation of performance, attitude, and discipline.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing and overseeing moderate complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established protocols.
This position ensures that accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory results are produced for patient diagnosis and treatment.
A key component of this role is to assist the Laboratory Manager/ Laboratory Director in maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality standards, supporting training and competency of personnel, and ensuring the overall integrity of the laboratorys testing processes.

Position Responsibilities The Medical Laboratory Technologist at Patients Emergency Room and Hospital will be responsible for: 1.
Performing moderate complexity laboratory testing according to established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.

Ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of all test results.
3.
Following all specimen handling, labeling, and processing protocols.
4.
Performing, documenting, and reviewing quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance.
5.
Troubleshooting analytical or instrument issues and initiating corrective actions as required.
6.
Maintaining accurate and complete testing records in accordance with CLIA and hospital policy.
7.
Participating in proficiency testing and ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs.
8.
Assisting the Laboratory Director in reviewing quality control data, performance specifications, and regulatory documentation.
9.
Advising and assisting staff in understanding test performance, interpretation, and clinical relevance.
10.
Providing and documenting training and competency assessments for testing personnel.
11.
Participating in the evaluation, validation, and implementation of new test methods and equipment.
12.
Assisting with development, review, and revision of laboratory policies and procedures on an annual basis or as needed.
13.
Ensuring all testing is performed in compliance with CLIA, COLA, OSHA, and hospital safety regulations.
14.
Monitoring and documenting corrective actions resulting from quality or proficiency review findings.
15.
Communicating effectively with the Leadership, nursing, and medical staff regarding laboratory operations and results.
16.
Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times in accordance with hospital standards.
17.
Participating in laboratory inspections and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies as needed.
