Respiratory Therapist- Boone/Hendricks County

The Respiratory Therapist / CPAP Specialist is responsible for the initiation, education, and ongoing support of patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and other non-invasive ventilation therapies.

This role combines clinical respiratory therapy skills with specialized expertise in sleep-disordered breathing, patient compliance, and home medical equipment (HME) protocols.

Set up and educate patients on the proper use of CPAP/BiPAP devices and related supplies (masks, humidifiers, filters) Perform mask fittings, pressure settings adjustments, and equipment troubleshooting Provide detailed instruction and coaching on sleep apnea therapy, equipment care, and compliance expectations Monitor patient compliance through manufacturer software (e.g., AirView, DreamMapper, EncoreAnywhere) and follow up as needed Collaborate with physicians, sleep labs, and other care providers to ensure timely setup and clinical documentation Maintain accurate and timely records of all patient interactions and equipment setups Troubleshoot issues and provide clinical guidance to patients experiencing discomfort or therapy challenges Ensure documentation meets payer requirements (e.g., Medicare face-to-face notes, sleep study reports) Stay current on industry standards, insurance guidelines, and manufacturer updates Support resupply program by educating patients on replacement schedules and benefits The above statements are intended to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
