KC-135 Airframe/ Sheetmetal Mechanic II

About the role To provide scheduled & unscheduled Organizational, Intermediate and Depot level maintenance, inspection and repair of KC-135 aircraft at Fairchild AFB WA.

This role is contingent upon contract award.

The Airframes Structural Mechanic II role involves installing/repairing airframe structural components and supporting electrical and avionics modifications requiring journeyman-level structural mechanic expertise.

The position is based at Fairchild AFB and may require domestic and international travel to meet Air Force mission needs.

Key responsibilities include: 1.

Inspect, maintain, repair, and service aircraft structures and airframe components.

2.

Perform aircraft sheet metal and structural modifications in accordance with technical procedures.

3.

Interpret schematics, blueprints, shop sketches, and technical data.

4.

Use color-coded aircraft piping and line charts.

5.

Operate power tools and precision measuring devices for maintenance and repair tasks.

6.

Prioritize workload to meet project schedules and deadlines.

7.

Provide input for Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) assessments.

8.

Use of safety PPE is required.

9.

Assist crew chiefs, electricians, and avionics technicians when required.

10.

Work assigned shifts and complete daily turnover logs as required.

11.

Perform other duties as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager.

About youWe'd love to hear from you if you have: 1.

High school diploma or equivalent.

2.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

and possess a motor vehicle driver's license.

3.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

4.

Active or obtainable Secret security clearance.

5.

Ability to obtain a passport for OCONUS travel.

6.

Minimum three years of aircraft experience on an Air Force wide-body platform (preferably KC-135) or equivalent 5-level qualification.

7.

Experience with sheet metal, fiberglass, and composite material structural repairs.

8.

Strong knowledge of corrosion control and aircraft painting techniques.

9.

Familiarity with Air Force maintenance publications, requirement cards, and IMDS/ETIMS procedures.

10.

Ability to obtain Collateral Duty Inspector certification within required timeframe 11.

Completion of Metal Bonded Repair and Advanced Composite Repair maintenance courses, desirable.
