Medical Assistant Apprentice
Lake Chelan Health is committed to developing a highly skilled healthcare workforce that reflects the needs of our community.
The Medical Assistant Apprentice is a full-time employee participating in a Washington State Registered Apprenticeship Program designed to provide the education, clinical experience, and hands-on training necessary to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
Apprentices are expected to work full-time in clinic and log 2000 on-the-job training hours over the 12-month program.
All clinical skills are taught hands-on under the guidance of a 1:1 coach.
Apprentices also complete an online course comprised of textbook readings, discussion posts, skill videos, quizzes, and more, that takes an average of 10 hours per week to complete.
The online curriculum must be completed during unpaid time, typically in evenings and on weekends.
In exchange for the investment made through the apprenticeship program, participants are expected to commit to working with the organization for two years after completing the program.
The apprentice is expected to actively participate in alleducational requirements, successfully complete competency assessments, and demonstrateLake Chelan Health's values of compassion, respect, accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age.Enrollment in the In-REACH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program sponsoredby Washington Association for Community Health is required.High school diploma or equivalent.Excellent customer service, oral and written communications skills required.
Compassion for patients required.
Must be able to work well in team environment.
Ability to multi-task in fast-paced work environment, with ability to anticipate future needs.
Basic computer user skills required.
Medical terminology and accurate spelling ability required.
CPR/BLS required.Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonableaccommodation.Reliable transportation for attendance at required training and apprenticeship activities.Ability to meet all employment requirements including background screening and immunizationrequirements.
