Senior Cloud Engineer
Summary
Designs, implements, and manages secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Possesses deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), cross-account architecture, and centralized enterprise governance (AWS Organizations and Azure Management Groups).
Driven by automation, continuous monitoring, and strict cloud cost optimization to ensure resilient, high-performance environments.
Primary Responsibilities
* Monitors cloud system performance, availability, compliance, and security using cloud-native or third-party monitoring tools.
* Designs and implements cross-account architectures, landing zones, and enterprise governance using frameworks like AWS Organizations and Azure Management Groups.
* Works with application teams to design and implement backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and failover strategies across Azure and AWS environments to ensure business continuity and resilience.
* Regularly reviews and optimizes cloud resources, configurations, and policies to align with cloud best practices, cost optimization, governance, and security requirements.
* Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and IT administrators to support enterprise cloud initiatives and operational excellence.
* Provides guidance on migrating on-premises systems to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
* Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for Azure and AWS-related architecture, operations, troubleshooting, and cloud service inquiries.
* Maintains comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, operational processes, standards, and procedures.
* Leads the effort in infrastructure automation, provisioning, and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
* Architects and maintains secure identity management, IAM roles, and access control models (e.g., Cognito, Azure AD/Entra ID) across multi-account environments.
* Participates in cloud capacity planning, cost management, and performance tuning initiatives to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities
* Regularly audits and ensures adherence to governance policies set by the Azure/AWS Governance team (e.g., cost management, resource tagging).
* Supports the team in defining and updating governance strategies.
* Coordinates activities with other IT teams as needed.
* Proposes innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open mindedness, using existing information and vendor resources to their fullest potential.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions that meet business requirements.
