School of Engineering and Science at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time Research Assistant to support ongoing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and aerospace engineering research projects.

Essential Responsibilities



* Perform and analyze Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) simulations related to parachute permeability modeling.


* Conduct CFD simulations using commercial software to evaluate high-Reynolds-number incompressible flows involving complex geometries.


* Process, organize, and analyze simulation and experimental data to support ongoing research objectives.


* Assist in the interpretation and presentation of research findings.


* Contribute to the preparation, editing, and submission of peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and technical reports.


* Maintain accurate documentation of research methods, simulation parameters, and results.


* Collaborate with faculty members, graduate researchers, and project team members to achieve research milestones.


* Perform other research-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications



* PhD with experience in CFD and DSMC simulations.


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to technical reports and scholarly publications.


* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.



* Previous experience supporting academic or sponsored research projects.

Compensation Range
In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the hourly base range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00.

This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations.

The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
