Production Supervisor
Amsted Automotive, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for 2nd shift.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met efficiently and safely.
Leads and motivates production teams, monitors workflow, enforces quality standards, and ensures compliance with safety regulations.
What You’ll Do
* Maintain education matrix(s) and associated records demonstrating compliance to the IATF Management system.
* Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
* Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
* Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives
* Keep production areas in ideal state to meet or exceed 5s standards.
* Assign work responsibilities to press and assembly employees.
* Provide Job Instruction for the following:
+ Maintain required safety levels on plant floor.
+ Ensure that production requirements are satisfied.
+ Ensure that Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
+ Problem Solving
+ Root Cause Analysis
+ Quality Requirements: Authorized to make decisions concerning quality issues.
* Maintain production equipment and machinery in proper operating condition through utilization of the Maintenance and Tooling Departments
* Serves as Assistant for Emergency Response Teams to include Safety and Medical Response Teams
* Serves in the capacity of wastewater handler commensurate with completion of proper environmental training.
* Manages production employees including press and assembly personnel, header operators and Team Leaders.
* Manage and maintain Team Leaders’ duties and responsibilities.
* Works closely with the other departmental Management and Supervisory Personnel
What You'll Need to Succeed
Education
* High school diploma or GED
* Some college and/or technical trade manufacturing education is preferred.
Experience
* At least 5 years’ experience in a fast paced, automotive manufacturing environment
Skills, Certifications, Abilities
* The ability to travel from plant to plant if requested.
* Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
* Exceptional knowledge of all facets of cold forming, machining and thread rolling.
* Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
* Possess strong motivational and leadership skills.
* Experience in supervising technical personnel.
* Excellent critical thinking skills.
* Excellent work record history.
* Basic computer skills, including P.C knowledge and current technology software familiarity.
* Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate with staff well.
* Quality, safety and environmentally focused.
