Forklift Operator
What You'll Do
You will oversee and maintain warehouse inventory by supervising inventory-related activities and ensuring accurate handling and storage of products.
You will direct and monitor the work of inventory employees, conduct regular inventory counts, and resolve discrepancies to maintain optimal inventory accuracy.
Occasional travel by automobile and airplane may be required for business purposes.
Essential Functions
* Advise associates on proper care, preservation, handling, storing, maintenance, and shipping of products.
* Train associates in equipment operations safety and general warehouse operations.
* Assign and direct work of inventory employees and monitor their performance to maximize efficiency.
* Conduct regular inventory counts, including quarterly cycle counts, full physical inventories, and customer required counts, and record results.
* Review and resolve inventory discrepancies, such as lost or damaged inventory, and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
* Maintain and update inventory records and discrepancies within the Warehouse Management System and communicate inventory status to management and customers as needed.
* Analyze inventory data and recommend improvements to inventory layout and management practices.
* Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
* College degree plus minimum 3 years of warehousing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
* Experience in quality assurance management or inventory control required.
* Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze inventory data and perform complex mathematical calculations for inventory management.
What Could Set You Apart
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AS400 Warehouse Management Systems, and RF technology.
* Forklift license, CPR, and First Aid training are considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
* Able to work in spaces with 55 inches (1.4 meters) of headroom.
* Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures varying from 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) to minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius), as well as outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
* Able to climb ladders or step ladders.
* Able to tolerate heights up to 30 ft.
(9 meters) and be able to access elevated products from inside safety cage.
* Able to wear personal protective equipment required for working at heights and in cold temperatures.
* Able to stand and/or walk continuously or frequently over an 8-10-12 hour shift.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
* Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
