Firmware Engineer I

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controls & Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in
CAREL and Schneider Electric controllers, PLC programming, HMI development, and
industrial communication protocols.

The role involves developing and supporting control
solutions for industrial cooling and thermal management products while coordinating with
customers, service teams, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and maintain application software using CAREL and Schneider Electric
controllers.
• Hands-on programming using IEC 61131-3 languages, particularly Functional Block
Diagram (FBD) and Structured Text (ST).
• Design control sequences, safety interlocks, alarm management, and equipment logic.
• Develop and configure HMI screens for monitoring, control, alarms, trends, and
diagnostics.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet, CAN
Bus, Ethernet/IP, and SNMP.
• Support integration with BMS, EMS, SCADA, and remote monitoring platforms.
• Participate in new product development, validation, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and field
implementation.
• Understand customer-specific requirements and implement requested configurations.
• Provide technical support to service teams and customers for troubleshooting and issue
resolution.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and
Service teams.
• Support factory production activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare functional specifications, software documentation, validation reports, and
release records.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechatronics, or
a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3-6 years years of experience in industrial automation, controls, firmware, or
HVAC/cooling system controls.
• Strong hands-on experience with CAREL and Schneider Electric controllers (preferred).
• Proficiency in Functional Block Diagram (FBD) and Structured Text (ST) programming.
• Experience in HMI development and industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and network integration.
• Experience in factory/manufacturing environments and customer-facing projects.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Data Center Cooling, CDU, Chillers, InRoom, Inrow, HVAC, Thermal
Management Systems, IoT connectivity, FAT/SAT activities, and global customer support.
