JOB OVERVIEW:
Under supervision of an administrative superior, performs a variety of complex and technical data entry of all land records recorded within Weber County that affect all parcels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receives documents from the Kofax que from the front counter, and correctly enter into fee and entry abstract record showing party name, tracts, instrument recorded, date and character of instrument, time of filing and the book and page number where the instrument is recorded to show chain of title to each.
Determines multiple parties to documents (etal) and completes additional indexing record; processes documents and separates by title; indexes according to standard procedures.
Creates new parcel numbers and correctly add owners name on all new subdivisions recorded, after verified from mapping department.
Add all additional prior serial numbers to correctly abstract the chain of title of ownership.
Verify mailing address through USPS and update each parcel correctly.
Verify correct owners have signed the documents correctly pursuant to state code, verify legal descriptions match, and transfer ownership of all conveying documents.

Update all taxing districts on all parcel numbers as all instruments that control tax district changes per state code, once verified by mapping department.
Quality assurance/quality control on all documents entered into fee and entry, and ownership.
This will consist of verifying as well as final check and proof read legal descriptions with those in your department.
Monitors changes in laws and regulations impacting the recording and maintenance of land records; assists in implementing changes as approved by department administrators.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of Title, Real Estate or Land Record work experience.
(Preference given to work experience directly related to the duties described above.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
Knowledge of: Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Working knowledge of specialized duties required by the position.
Skills and Abilities to: Skilled in typing at 40 wpm if required by position.
Ability to perform a variety of clerical and typing work requiring some exercise of independent judgment.
