\n As a Staff Accountant, Inventory, you will play a crucial role in the Merchandise Accounting organization, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
You will prepare and analyze inventory data, maintain schedules, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will help resolve issues and support various teams within the company.

Responsibilities
* Prepare weekly store inventory packets: Review items not on file and bad counts, and communicate with Loss Prevention (LP) and Store Operations for issue resolution.
* Analyze inventory results: Identify variations from trends or predictive models.
* Upload inventory schedules: Work with Loss Prevention (LP) to ensure timing between inventories meets established thresholds.
* Monitor store inventories: Identify stores needing inventory checks and prepare forecasts to ensure compliance.
* Process inventory date changes: Ensure proper approvals are obtained.
* Reconcile systematic entries: Catch potential errors in the General Ledger.
* Review store supply expenses: Follow up on expenses outside thresholds with stores or Distribution Centers (DC).
* Correct journal entries: Address errors in systematic entries.
* Process inventory revaluations: Handle weekly re/devaluations and store order pack changes.
* Respond to field inquiries: Address questions and requests from the "Inventory Questions" email.
* Support audits: Accommodate internal and external audit requests.
* Prepare complex journal entries: Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations: Analyze accounts for compliance with accounting and valuation concepts.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Experience: You bring a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience
* Tech-Savvy: You are proficient in MS Office Suites, especially MS Excel, and you have strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
You'll go the Extra Mile if you have
