Host
JOB SUMMARY: The Host’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests.
The Host is responsible for greeting arriving guests, welcoming them to the restaurant and seating them.
The Host is also responsible for answering the telephone, taking reservations, taking and entering to-go orders, and arranging tables in order to accommodate large parties.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.

Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
3.
Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
4.
Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
5.
Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude during all interactions.
6.
Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
7.
Must have a working knowledge of computers and basic math skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
2.
Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
3.
As guests arrive, assesses the dining room and if an accommodating table is available, escort the guests to the dining room.
Arranges tables as necessary to accommodate larger parties.
4.
Estimates wait times for guests and monitors the guest waiting list, ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting.
5.
Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner and within three rings.
Answers guest questions, makes reservations, and takes and enters to-go orders.
6.
Assists the service staff by helping to clear or reset tables as needed.
7.
Checks facility restrooms to ensure cleanliness and order every half hour.
8.
Is knowledgeable of all menu items, specials and restaurant offers or promotions.
9.
Maintains a clean, organized and appropriately stocked work area.
10.
Thoroughly completes any assigned set-up, side work or closing duties.
11.
Thoroughly communicates with management and associates through daily communication and attends required meetings.
12.
Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
13.
Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
14.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
