Job Summary

Handle the comprehensive accounting lifecycle for real estate and asset leases, ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) Topic 842 standards.

Serve as a functional expert for lease data integrity and lease accounting accuracy.

Perform complex reconciliations, supports month-end close processes, and collaborates with legal and real estate departments to ensure strategic financial reporting and audit readiness.

Oversee the administration of diverse agreements including license and public way agreements to ensure the accuracy of assets and lease liabilities.

Recommend enhancements to internal controls and lease accounting procedures to mitigate financial risk and streamline multi-departmental workflows.

Minimum Qualifications


* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance,or a directly related field is required.and


* Four (4) years of experience in lease accounting, real estate accounting, or directly related experience is required, or


* An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.

*Degrees awarded outside of the United States, with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) , or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS



* Knowledge of US GAAP and specific mastery of ASC 842 lease accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.


* Ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and non-compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.


* Skill in utilizing lease administration software (e.g., CoStar, Tririga) and advanced Excel functions for data modeling and reporting.


* Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing financial systems/procedures and recommend strategic process improvements.


* Ability to organize and lead projects involving financial system transitions, reporting activities, and data migrations.


* Skill to effectively collaborate with legal, real estate, and government revenue departments.
