Underwriter

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an Underwriter for our Excess Casualty group in San Francisco.


* Produce new business opportunities within the territory.


* Evaluate, select, underwrite, price, quote and maintain new and renewal business.


* Develop and implement marketing plans with Excess Casualty National Accounts Management.


* Retain accounts through active participation in Chubb Stewardship process.


* Adhere to Chubb standards on pricing and servicing.


* Participate in product line projects as required.


* Oversee & execute on various operational tasks


* The individual will manage new business pipeline.

This includes:
+ Maintaining monthly, quarterly & year end production goals.
+ Ensuring proper progress and strategies to close new business are maintained.


* The individual will be a key liaison between Chubb Global Casualty Foreign and Domestic lines of business and ensure strategies and efforts are coordinated.

QUALIFICATIONS



* We welcome candidates with transferable skills-prior experience in excess casualty is a plus, but not required.


* College degree in insurance, business or related fields or equivalent experience.


* 1+ years of professional experience, and/or insurance knowledge.


* Superior communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.


* Superior analytical skills needed to evaluate risk


* Excellent sales and marketing skills.


* Strong communication skills


* Willingness to learn and grow


* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment


* Advanced computer skills preferred.

The pay range for the role is $110,900 to $149,760.

The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.

The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
