Job responsibilities



* Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors


* Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others


* Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes


* Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus


* Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience


* Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field


* 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ yrs of proven track record of technical leadership


* Expert-level proficiency in Java full-stack development, including RESTful API design and implementation Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA


* Strong front-end development skills in React and Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)


* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)


* Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices, Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence)


* Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices, microservices architecture and distributed systems


* Proficiency in AI-assisted coding using tools such as GitHub Copilot, or similar AI pair-programming assistants and Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code for quality, security, and performance


* Strong prompt engineering skills with the ability to craft effective prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate accurate, efficient, and secure code
