Designer II - Solar Canopy Structures

Position Summary:

The Designer II plays a key role in turning engineering concepts into reality, using AutoCAD and other design tools to support analysis, design calculations, and detailed drawing production.

This position is responsible for creating construction and fabrication drawings for solar canopy structures and related structural components.

You'll apply your expertise in materials, construction methods, engineering principles, and mathematics to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliable material estimates - helping our projects move from concept to completion.

What You'll Do:


* Use engineering principles, computer-assisted design & modeling software, and equipment to prepare design documents to be used for permitting, fabrication, installation drawings and manuals, and technical guidance.


* Assist the Estimating team with client requests by preparing drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information.


* Assist in-house structural and civil engineers with analysis and design tasks.


* Prepare internally reviewed letters to customers and designers for such things as requests for information (RFI's), technical guidance, transmittal comments or questions, and similar requests.


* Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned.

What You Bring:


* Vocational certificate or 2 year degree in Autodesk AutoCAD (Advance Steel/3D modeling is a plus)


* 3 years of experience in civil, construction, structural design, or drafting


* Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail


* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally and self-direct work


* Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
